Weekend Notes: 5.31.26
the five different types of friends that you need, my latest RealReal find, a light pink trench and is optimization culture killing us? I think so.
Hi! I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend, whatever you’re doing. I’d bet that we’re collectively wondering how tomorrow is June 1st because I simply cannot recall getting here.

I found these Khaite boots via The RealReal for a fraction of the retail cost. I know that once fall rolls around, the discounts won’t be as steep. This is always the time to find the best deals on fall and winter.
Links & Things:
Three years ago, Keith gave me a coffee subscription as a gift, and we’ve renewed it since. I love not having to think about buying coffee, but also knowing that we’re drinking some of the best and freshest out there. Our subscription is to Trade, but I’m open to trying another. Here are 12 coffee subscriptions recommended by Bon Appétit.
Ralph Lauren revenues top 8 billion in another year of growth.
A fascinating analysis of the five different types of friends you need.
Jeremiah Brent and Nate Berkus share their dreamy home in Portugal. It also confirms that I do, in fact, need a tapestry on a wall in our home.
Optimization culture is killing us. I fully agree with this take.
Derek Blasberg’s fancy concierge doctor answers some great questions about health. The part about fiber was my reminder that I need to incorporate more of it into my life.
Eyeing, Buying & Things Worth Noting

This self-tanning water mist is easy to use (just a few sprays), and it leaves you with a natural, subtle glow. Pair it with the Sarah Creal cream bronzer to look like you just returned from a beachy vacation.
Cyklar has come out with an illuminating version of their vanilla body oil that is just gorgeous. No obnoxious shimmer, just a little glow that also serves as a subtle complexion enhancer.
I got this light pink trench, and it’s such a nice departure from the typical tan shades I wear. The material is on the thin side, but I don’t mind. I went with a small.
I ordered these flats from Schutz (true to size). They remind me so much of the Le Monde Beryl pair. Now, how will the comfort compare? That’s another question that will be determined.
If you’re unsure of how to pack your supplements and medicine when you travel, I highly recommend this handy pill organizer.
I’ve been using this shampoo and conditioner from L’Oreal and have been quite pleased with the duo.
On the other side of the financial coin, I hate how much I love Allies of Skin. Their products are so damn expensive, but I have found that I notice a big difference when I use them. I’m mainly talking about the Multi Peptides and Growth Factor Serum and the Copper Tripeptide & Ectoin Advanced Repair Serum. There’s also a duo that comes out to a bit less. Have any of you tried anything from them? If so, I would love to hear your thoughts.
Hope you all have the best week!
xo,
Helena

Allies’ hydrating face wash is similar to the Elemis balm. Love the combo you mentioned, and their peptides moisturizer. The website has sales often!
Omg I just bought the Allies of Skin Peptide! Ive been using MediK8s version and it seems ok? I got a couple of Laser Genesis treatments and the derm recommended SkinMedica TNS, which Ive used in the past (did nothing for me. Made me wonder if it was just water and food coloring). Anyhow, purchased Allies based on your rec and will start using when i finish the M8 !
Hey, did you ever get the Mulberry bag??
