Weekend Notes: 2.15.25
Including a playlist I've been loving, the weekly top and a brilliant iPhone hack.

A couple of days ago, I posted the above photo to Instagram, and one of my (Instagram) friends messaged me, “A good vintage IG WIMB (what’s in my bag) style pic!” My response was, “It’s like therapy!”
I go through these bursts, and I’m sure I’m not alone when I have such an urge to create something pleasing to the eye: an old-fashioned flat lay like the above, a new vignette in my home, a fresh outfit inspired by a photo I saw on Pinterest. These creative waves aren’t always there, but I ride them out when they come. Before I know it, they disappear as quickly as they come, and then I fall into a bit of a creative rut. It’s a repetitive cycle.

I’ve learned a lot of it has to do with our hormones. Apparently, we’re the most creative during our Follicular phase (Days 6-14, post-period, pre-ovulation), and after learning this, I can confirm that’s been my pattern.
The part where I like to be surrounded by, or create, thing, places and atmospheres that are pleasing to the eye might be the slightly superficial Libra in me (sue me). However, whenever I’m anxious, overwhelmed or stressed, it makes me feel at peace. I’m sure others can relate.
Things I’ve Loved From the Week:
I created a fresh playlist with some of my soulful favorites. I’ve been playing it a lot, but my favorite time to play it is in the mornings or when I’m cooking something in the kitchen. I’m that person who wants music playing all the time, even if it’s light background noise.
I love this idea of an adult field trip.
One piece of good advice about starting something new
How often should you be cleaning your hairbrush?
I’ve been getting a lot of use out of these headbands. They’ve brought me back to my 20-something-year-old self, but I love them for prolonging a hair wash day.
Here’s a recent outfit I wore one with.
After all these years, this is still one of my go-to hair products when I want to add a little texture and body to my hair.
The top 10 books loved by New Yorkers last year.
A Trader Joe’s breakfast hack to try next time we’re in PA.
I’ve been loving my Bose Quiet Comfort headphones. Their sound quality is an A+, and I appreciate that the battery power seems to last for a while. They currently have a President’s Day sale of 25% off sitewide.
I just learned about this iPhone photo editing tool , and its my favorite discovery to get the clutter out of photos!
Notes on confidence. I loved this!
The question most of us ask ourselves weekly
In case you missed it, we recently went on a Disney Cruise for the first time.
A great under $150 coat find.
The two brushes I can’t live without.
I got these red sneakers, which I included in this week's The Weekly Top. I wanted something a bit different than Sambas or Gazelles. This is my outfit inspo.

You can also find The Weekly Top in this format, which might be easier to navigate.
A few things to mention:
Lately I’ve been loving the combo of this Armani Cheek Tint (I like Rosy Peach) topped with this liquid highlighter from Westman Atelier (in Peau De Pche). I make sure the cheek tint is dry, before I apply a tiny drop of the highlighter to the apples of my cheeks.
This is a great brown sweater from Zara. There’s also a burgundy version in 2025’s biggest color trend according to Bazaar.
Have you had a chance to try The Dry Shampoo from Crown Affair? I still think it’s one of the best I’ve tried.
Side note: I’m so excited for the White Lotus Season 3 premiere tonight! Who’s watching?
As always, thank you for reading and for your continued support!
xo,
Helena

That Zara sweater! Love the notes on confidence. xx
