I meant to publish this way earlier, but the day escaped me once I picked up the kids from school. Today, I was in full-blown mom mode and wore these navy leggings and a matching oversized hoodie from UK based Wat the Brand (outfit photo coming soon). They’re the chicest friend/business partner duo and two of my favorite women to get inspiration from. Highly recommend checking out their collection.
On the note of shoes below, with that outfit, I opted for the non-pictured navy and white New Balance 550’s. They’ve definitely become a rather saturated sneaker, but I do still wear mine often.
Below are seven other pairs that I’ve worn recently:
The latest addition to my shoe collection. I wore these for Keith’s birthday the other night, and I’m happy to report that I found them pretty comfortable. “Pretty” because the back and front straps could probably benefit from breaking in a little, but they’re a reasonable 2.5” heel, and I love their look.
Sizing: I find they run true to size. I’m normally an 8.5, a 39 in European sizing and I got these in a 39. My heel is all the way to the back, but no cliffhanger (what my girlfriends and I call a situation of the back heel hanging off).
These are my first pair of Frēda Salvador loafers and they do not disappoint. They do require a few wears to soften, but the leather on them is beautiful. In my mind, I was picturing them paired with light jeans and a creamy colored coat and sweater.
Sizing: I initially got them in my usual size, but they were a bit too tight. I sized up from an 8.5 to a 9 and they feel way better on.
Last fall (well, the end of the summer, technically), my big boot purchase was the Khaite Dallas boots. They proved to be one of my best purchases (see below). This year, the Proenza Schouler Bronco boots were the boot splurge. They were impossible to find at one point, but some sizes are back in stock. If interested, I shared a few outfits incorporating them in this post.
Sizing: I sized up 1/2 a size. I usually wear a US 8.5 and a 39 Euro. These are a size 39.5. Plus, I like to make room for thicker socks if needed.
To echo what I said above, I splurged on the Khaite Dallas boots last year, not entirely sure if they’d be a worthwhile buy. To my pleasant surprise, they’ve become one of my most worn, and most comfortable pairs of boots that I own. The modern cowboy style is certainly not for everyone (Keith always comments ‘ooh the cowboy boots?’ when I put them on and I’m not sure if it’s because he’s into them or if he hates them), but I love them.
Sizing: I sized up from a 39 to a 39.5. I think I’m realizing that 39 is my typical shoe size but 39.5 is more of my boot size.
After seeing how often I wore the denim version of this style, these were at the top of my fall wishlist. I own a few pairs of Chanel shoes, and for whatever reason, I find this specific style (the slingback flats) the most comfortable and easy to walk in. I really love them and know I’ll wear them for years. They were hard to find, but I had The Coveted source them for me.
Sizing: Chanel sizing is all over the place. I found the denim style to run true to size (rare for Chanel), but I ended up getting these in 1/2 a size larger. I normally wear a US 8.5 and these are a 39.5. If interested, you can find my Chanel flats sizing guide here.
I know I’ve mentioned these a lot, but these Marc Fisher loafers have been one of my favorite finds for fall. They look way more expensive than they are (IMHO), and I find them super comfortable.
Sizing: True to size.
Much to my shock, as I resisted them at first, the Boston Birkenstocks have become one of my most worn pairs of shoes (do we even call them shoes?) in my closet. Don’t get me wrong, I never wear these to make a fashion statement. I also never wear these when trying to put my best foot forward. If shoes were a personality, these would not be mine. However, I wear them when I want to have that “she looks really comfortable but still stylish” look, if you know what I mean? I love them for school drop-off, to run to the supermarket, to walk the dog, and when I’m at the lake house, as they fit more of my vibe there. I’m wearing the grey in the photo, but I’m especially digging this newer creamy color.
Sizing: The shearling makes them a little smaller, so I sized up one full size from a 39 to 40.
Please let me know if you would like me to do more series like this.
Thanks for reading!
